Great Work Montessori is a highly dedicated educational institution that firmly believes in the Montessori philosophy and the teaching method developed by the renowned educator Maria Montessori. We take pride in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where each child is encouraged to learn and grow at their own pace based on their unique needs, interests, and abilities. Our unwavering commitment is to help children develop a love of learning, achieve their full academic potential, and foster self-discipline, self-respect, and respect for others. At Great Work Montessori, we are confident that by allowing children to learn new skills when they are ready rather than when they reach a certain age, we provide them with a solid foundation for lifelong success.
Great Work Montessori is an educational institution that provides students with a unique and innovative learning experience. Our approach to education is rooted in the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes experiential learning and student-led exploration. At Great Work Montessori, education should be more than rote memorization and test-taking. Instead, we focus on equipping our students with essential skills that they can use to make positive changes in their communities and society at large. Our mission is to redefine education by empowering students to become active, engaged citizens who can contribute significantly to society. To achieve this mission, we offer a range of programs and activities that provide students with opportunities to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. We also encourage our students to engage with their peers and community, fostering a sense of empathy and social responsibility.
At the heart of our approach to education are our adult teachers/guides, who work tirelessly to create an ideal learning environment for our students. Our teachers/guides are highly trained and experienced professionals passionate about helping students achieve their aspirations. They serve as mentors, coaches, and facilitators, guiding students as they explore their interests and pursue their passions. We understand that every student has a unique learning style and pace. That's why we offer individualized learning plans that cater to each student's needs and interests. Our personalized approach to education ensures that every student receives the support and motivation they need to achieve their goals.
In summary, Great Work Montessori is more than just a school; it's a community that fosters a fair and equitable society through education. By empowering our students to become active and engaged citizens, we can create a better world for all.
About Us
Our headmaster, Jody Caffaro, has dedicated her life to the Montessori philosophy. Ms. Caffaro has over 20 years of experience in education as an administrator and teacher. Ms. Caffaro is trained in Montessori Adolescent Studies for 12- 18 year-olds through the North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA). Great Work Montessori Program is a homeschool pod that offers academics and real-world experiences that prepares your child for life.
The activities and programs are so vast that every child will potentially find their niche! Students work all year on their Micro-economies, from selling pies to making key chains. Micro-economies empower the student community to make choices regarding financial planning and spending. The Micro-economies allowed students to plan a trip to the Adirondacks for the 2021-2022 program year.
